It's Spring!

Lately, it's bird city around here. I woke up really early this morning to bird chirping even though I have really heavy bedroom curtains. And I saw two robins and a blue jay and a bunch of cute little brown birds flying around in the garden when I was leaving for work. I don't remember ever seeing this many little birds, as I have lately. It's really nice. Maybe I am just paying better attention. The ravens and crows are my favorite. They are so smart. Did you know they have decoy nests, so that no-one can follow them back to their real nests? Speaking of smart birds, I am looking for a bald eagle costume for our AmeriCorps graduation on July 25th. It would make Caitlin's decade if someone showed up to the end of her 2nd year of federal service dressed up like an eagle. If you have any leads, please let me know. She's been such a good team leader over the past two years and she wants an eagle to come to Graduation so badly that I might have to rent an eagle costume. In other bird news...I am working on a homemade hummingbird feeder. I have a plan to lure all of the neighborhood hummingbirds to where I can see them outside the living room window. All you need is a empty soda bottle, an empty deli container, some red paint and sugar water. Hopefully, I can find all of these items and put them all together this weekend. Then it will be birdwatching time!

OK, this whole post was really just an excuse to post this photo.

XO,

Tera
